why is there a need for translation?

This is advice. Follow it at your own risk

Exactly. Why bother with translation? Why not continue to do the same workout day after day, year after year? The problem with that is two fold.
We as humans are meant to adapt to our environment. If there is a stress placed on us, our bodies must adapt to the stress or we will not survive.
How does this relate to strength training?  When we work out, we are trying to elicit an adaptation in our bodies. The strength gain adaptation will occur using the same workout routine for approximately three to six weeks maybe  longer depending on how weak your muscle is. Eventually you will stop gaining strength and hit what is commonly known as the plateau.
No matter how hard you try or how many reps you do, you will continue to remain at the same plateau. Why? Because there is a point of no return. The body will only adapt so much to the stress you're placing on it and then it stops adapting. Why?
I don't know why. Maybe your body stops increasing the amount of fibers in your muscle.Maybe your central nervous system becomes weakened to the point after continuous stress from you working out all the time that it can no longer fire off electrical impulses to required muscle fibers necessary for you to achieve a new max out record  so you continue to be stuck week after week.
So now you're thinking I know I'll just rest up not workout for a couple weeks and then I'll come back stronger than ever. Nope. You will come back weaker and any strength gains will be lost.
In order for successful strength gains to be achieved, the strength training must be  consistent and you must take in more calories than you consume and you must use the principles of translation that I laid out in my previous post.
Why translation?  Because it consistently varies the range of motion in the exercise which means you're not giving the body a chance to stop adapting. Through these small changes we make in the range of motion in our exercise, we do not give our bodies the chance to stop adapting.
The second reason why we use translation is prevention of repetitive movement injury. If you constantly do the same workout, your will never have a chance to rest and you will increase the likelihood of injury.

you talk the talk. now prove it. okay. here's my bench press routine guaranteed to make you stronger
